The weight of the gloves is determined by the amount of padding inside the glove. A havier glove means more protection but will also slow down your punching speed. For training purposes and light sparring most of the time, 12oz is the best weight for you.

10oz - ideal for light sparring or fitness workouts if your weight is below 54kg

12oz - ideal for light sparring or fitness workouts if your weight is below 68kg. Also, best to use for hitting punching bags or training pads.

14oz - great for heavier sparring if your body weight is less than 84kg.

16oz - for heavier sparring if your body weight is more than 84kg.
