No motor. No cord. No maximum speed — the Sprintbok only goes as fast as you push it, which turns out to be a fair test of how fast that actually is.

The curved deck of 62 hand-set wooden slats does the rest: it's genuinely difficult to heel-strike on a curve, so most runners land mid or forefoot within a few sessions — the form you were probably taught once and never quite adopted. Hand-assembled in solid wood at NOHrD's workshop in Nordhorn, Germany, and oiled rather than lacquered, it behaves less like gym equipment and more like a piece you don't mind leaving in the living room.

It won't run itself, and it won't pretend the workout was easier than it was.
